Senior Corporate Legal Counsel

Job Description Our client is one of the UK’s leading developers, owners and operators of utility- scale battery energy storage. They also have experience developing, building and operating wind and solar projects, both independently and in partnership with others. As a Legal Counsel reporting to the General Counsel, you will play a crucial role in handling a diverse range of corporate and commercial legal matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Corporate and/or Commercial law, preferably with at least 2 years of Post-Qualification Experience (PQE) gained within an international Law Firm.
Draft, review and support negotiations on commercial and procurement contracts;
Manage UK and European external legal advisers in relation to a variety of legal matters;
Provide legal support to various business departments on day-to-day operations;
Assist and support in-house Governance function re compliance with applicable laws,
regulations, and industry standards, including data protection, intellectual property, and
consumer protection laws;
Conduct legal research and analysis to stay abreast of relevant legal developments and provide
proactive advice to mitigate risks and capitalise on opportunities; Assist in the resolution of legal disputes and claims, including liaising with external counsel as necessary.
Qualified Commercial/Corporate solicitor with the right to practice in England & Wales;
~Experience in working for/with Listed companies, and an understanding of the UK Public Company regulatory environment (including Investment Trusts);
In-house experience (either full time or on secondment), including management of external legal counsel.
