An exciting opportunity has arisen for two band 7 fixed term / secondment contracts until 01.11.2025 to deliver the health inequalities children and young people asthma management project. The post holders will sit within children's services with responsibility for the delivery of asthma in children and young people project as part of the ESNEFT inequalities programme.
The post holders are required to have direct clinical involvement and knowledge of asthma in children. The post holders will be responsible for providing training, guidance, advice and support to children/families, schools, GP surgeries and pharmacies focussing on SNEE's areas of deprivation in Ipswich and North East Essex.
We are looking for skilled and motivated professionals who can be flexible practitioners within the community setting, a good team player and be able to develop collaborative working relationships with other healthcare professionals, services and agencies. The post holders will also liaise closely with a broad range of disciplines and agencies, including Education, social services, voluntary agencies and primary and secondary care.
Clinical supervision and a supported induction is provided.
We have two posts one in Colchester and one in Ipswich, please be aware some cross sites work is required.

- Nursing including acute paediatric settings
- General Paediatric experience
- Community Experience
- Has run nurse-led asthma clinics
- School Liaison experience
- Registration/RSCN/RN Child
- Diploma in Asthma Care and/or Paediatric Respiratory Care
- Independent non-medical prescriber training
- Degree
- Evidence of further professional development
- School nursing qualification
- Paediatric Asthma short course
- Advanced assessment skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Models excellent clinical skills and knowledge i.e.
- Leadership skills
- Awareness of professional nursing issues/quality
- Commitment to research based practice and evidence based care
- Clear understanding of child protection issues
- Participated in audits
- Be aware of research and willing to participate in same
- Knowledge/evidence of participation in service development or change management
