Design Manager - Building Envelope
My client requires an experienced Design Manager to join a well organised design team currently led by the Design Director. The company predominantly work on commercial building envelope projects that include offices, medical and pharmaceutical facilities, factories, sporting facilities, showrooms and a small number of residential projects.
They require a good technically biased individual with a clear understanding of the products and systems used in building envelope projects and the requirements by the team to design systems that work with the contractors & clients requirements often from scant detail.
You will have a relevant qualification and at least 10 years experience, preferably with at least 5 years as Design Manager in the industry, not all of which has to be on envelope projects but a good understanding of this field of operation is essential. A clear communicator who is able to work with a collaborative team that would include the Design Director, Project Director and MD to ensure successful delivery of high value projects.
The company have an excellent reputation for delivering high quality projects on time and on budget which has helped them to secure ongoing projects having formed good working relationships with a number of clients. They have a solid pipeline of business but also have the luxury of being able to turn business away rather than stretch the company too far, they are more focused on providing the very best service than being the biggest player in the market.
With an office near Reading they cover a region broadly north toward Birmingham, South to the South coast, west to Bristol and east predominantly to the Northern Homes counties with a few projects in London.
