Job Description

We're currently looking for a PPA Engineer for one of our tier 1 automotive clients, based in Warrington for an 12 month contract, outside IR35. Our client are a a large automotive supplier specialising in plastics (bumpers).

MAIN FUNCTION

To create the specifications and technically follow up supplier developments of assembly means whilst being aware of quality, cost and timing. (Includes semi and fully automated cells for punching/ welding/ bonding/ assembly).

Background/Skills:

Assist the MPM on design for manufacturing.

Create the technical documentation of the assembly means.

Technically follows the design, the build and the tuning of the assembly means.

Organises and pilots the sign-off. Technically supports the run at rates. Organises analyses and validates the capability of machines. Ensures a technical help to the production plant during industrialisation

Tier 1 automotive experience

Writing the specs for the assembly

Building the bumper from the shell to completion

Follows up on design and realization of assembly equipment according to customer requirements

Participates in conception of assembly process and equipment with other members of the project management team

Improvement of assembly techniques

Develop work on a lessons learned from previous models and validate machines

Ideally plastics experience

We are ideally looking for an experienced PPA Engineer, who is used to working in a high volume, fast paced plant with manufacturing parts, ideally with automotive plastics experience/aerospace plastics experience.

The contract is 12 months, outside IR35.

We are looking for someone to start in May or beginning of June at the latest.

The agreed rate per hour is negotiable and dependant on level of experience and will be agreed as all-inclusive.

This is on an hours worked/hours paid basis (37.5-40 hours as an expectation)
