We're looking for a Lead Technical Animator (or Director) from AAA Games or Film/VFX to work on a brand new AAA Original IP for PC/Consoles
Key responsibilities:
Leadership: As a leader, you will play a pivotal role in defining and driving the technical art department. You will mentor and inspire the technical artists sharing best practice to continuously improve and innovate in their work.
Producing final character content: You will have hands on creation and implementation of in-game characters.
Research & Development: You will have a strong desire to push what is achievable for real
time characters within the games medium and be responsible for leading our R&D efforts, remaining up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies. You will also work with key external partners to ensure we stay at the cutting edge of game development.
Direction: Set and maintain ambitious standards for visual quality, be able to cast a critical eye, both technical and artistic, over assets.
Studio Culture: You will align with, and champion, our studio values of Excellence, Teamwork, and Integrity.
Pipelines: You will also be responsible for evaluating, implementing and maintaining new tools and pipelines that ensure a smooth workflow, enhance efficiency, reduce iteration times and improve quality.
Collaboration: You will collaborate closely with other departments, such as art and code to achieve a cohesive and visually stunning results, focusing on optimization and efficiency. This will involve regular communication across time zones.
Your Skills (Essential):
Extensive experience in the games industry as a Technical Art Director or a similar role.
Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team, driving the artistic vision and setting high standards of quality with experience in mentoring and managing a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross functional teams.
A strong portfolio showcasing your technical, artistic expertise and anatomical understanding, including experience of rigging hyper realistic characters.
Proficiency in industry standard tools and software, such as Maya and Houdini.
You will have a strong desire to push what is achievable for real time characters within the games medium. You'll have the ability to leverage both existing and emerging technologies in the pursuit of this. Identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation.
Strong knowledge of current industry standard art tools and pipelines.
Experience with Unreal Engine.
Coding proficiency (Python)
Your Skills (Desirable):
Experience of bespoke meta human character implementation.
Understanding of how to utilize purpose built tools into pipeline.
Experience of managing and working with teams across multiple time zones.
Demonstrable CFX experience with simulation driven assets.
