CDM Consultant at Eurosafe UK

Eurosafe UK is the specialist H&S and fire safety division of Tersus Consultancy, one of the UK’s leading construction compliance consultancies. Operating across the UK and Ireland, they ensure health and safety risk management in all property sectors, including commercial, retail, industrial and residential. With the increasing focus on building safety and compliance, they are looking for an experienced CDM Consultant to join their growing team in various locations across the UK.

Job Purpose:

To act as a CDM Consultant/Principal Designer as specified in the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 on behalf of Eurosafe UK Clients; A progression toward the Senior CDM Consultant role.

Responsibilities:
  1. Carry out the day-to-day operations of the CDM Consultant Team
  2. Liaise with Clients, Designers and Contractors in relation to discharging duties under the CDM Regulations
  3. Attend construction project design reviews and design team meetings
  4. Advise Clients, Designers and Contractors on their duties under the CDM Regulations
  5. Attend pre-start and progress meetings
  6. Conduct site safety inspections on construction sites and prepare reports on the inspection findings
  7. Prepare Pre-construction Health and Safety Information for construction projects and disseminate to the project team
  8. Review and prepare Construction Phase Plans, Risk Assessments and Method statements for construction projects
  9. May be required to carry out other duties in line with your job status and level of responsibility, in order to meet the needs of the business
Experience/Skills Required:
  • NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupation Safety and Health or CITB Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) qualification
  • Previous experience within the construction industry ideally within a health and safety role or assisting someone acting in the role
  • An understanding of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015
  • Excellent organisation and communication skills
  • The ability to work under own initiative
  • The ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines
  • A good level of IT skills

Additional Preferred Qualifications: NEBOSH Construction Certificate; Technician Membership of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health; Previous CDM Coordination experience within a consultancy organization.
