About the Job: Requirements and Experience

The Manager of Carbon Solutions is responsible for overseeing the development of Rizome’s new projects and executing the sale of carbon credits in spot and forward transactions.

Responsibilities include:

·Oversee the development cycle of new Rizome projects

-Carbon life-cycle analysis

-Market technical and feasibility studies

-Project Development Document (PDD)

-Project verification and auditing

-Project registration

·Help to negotiate and execute the sales of carbon credits (voluntary and compliance) to prospective buyers in spot and forward transactions

·Oversee client experience for current projects to ensure client objectives are tracked and implemented by the in-country project team and reporting back to the client on progress

Experience and skills needed:

·5+ years’ experience in sustainable finance and origination and registration of carbon projects

·Track record of originating/ developing carbon projects and forward selling carbon credits

Qualifications:

·Able to navigate the intricacies of developing/registering carbon projects with experience working with the main registries like Verra, Gold Standard and Puro.

·Relationships with industry intermediaries (e.g., rating agencies, brokers, marketplaces) and some carbon buyers

·Independently able to create high-quality PowerPoint presentations and contribute to documents for customers and executive audiences

·Able to work in fast-paced, team environments without supervision

·Strong communication and networking skills

·Bachelors in Maths, Science, Engineering, Finance or Economics

·Advanced qualification in Environmental or Climate Science

Location: London, UK. Hybrid role with 2-3 days per week in the office (St. James, Mayfair; London).

Start date: April 1, 2024
