DESIGN ENGINEER

This is a full time onsite position.

At Ilmor, we specialise in the design, simulation, development and manufacture of powertrain systems, electronics, and software for Motorsport, Automotive and Marine applications. You would be working for a business which is highly invested in technology, at the forefront of engineering developments and in an environment which truly has a family feel and everyone knows your name.

We are growing our pool of talent for exciting new projects and are looking for Engineers with robust Mechanical Design experience, combined with a passion for Engines and Powertrains. You can expect to be involved in the design of major engine components and assemblies across a spectrum of high-end powertrain projects. You will join a team of innovative Design Engineers and will work with some of the world’s top Motorsport and Automotive brands.

You should be able to demonstrate:

At least three years post graduate experience in the field of Powertrain Design

A good degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering

Strong understanding of engineering principles and IC engine systems

Proven ability in the design of major powertrain components

An understanding of engine design, manufacture and assembly

3D CAD & FEA stress analysis skills (preferably using Catia V5 and Ansys)

Good customer and supplier liaison skills

Combined with this experience, it is essential that you possess:

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Structured approach to work with the ability and flexibility to meet tight deadlines

  • The ability to generate new approaches and innovate ideas

  • Good communication skills in verbal and written formats
