The Role

We are looking for a committed, highly motivated Customer Service Advisor with a real passion for providing excellent customer service, putting the customer first in everything that they do.You will need to maintain high standards often under pressure and be able to use your initiative, showing a positive and flexible approach within a team, in a diverse and challenging environment.

Proven experience in problem solving, excellent communication skills with the ability to handle difficult situations is essential.

Key Requirements

The successful applicant must be educated to GCSE level (or equivalent) in at least Mathematics and English with excellent numeracy and literacy skills and have proven experience working directly with the general public both in person and by phone.

The post holder must be able to work on own initiative, under pressure in a busy environment and be proficient in the use of IT systems. It is desirable that applicants also have local government experience, ideally with a working knowledge of legacy benefits and/or council tax and a knowledge of the local area and community.

Special Conditions

Working hours are 37 per week, 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Appointment to this post is subject to satisfactory clearance of a basic disclosure check (Disclosure & Barring Services (DBS)) under the Police Act 1997. Wyre Forest District Council is an equal opportunities employer.
