Based on the Witches Oak project, you will support the day-to-day health & safety duties while contributing to the ongoing development of the regional safety strategy. You will report directly to the Health and Safety Manager, with key responsibilities including: Supporting the project team in ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation and implementing best practices. Conducting audits and inspections to ensure compliance with legal requirements and health and safety management systems. Monitoring and resolving health and safety issues as they arise. Investigating accidents and incidents to identify root causes and areas for improvement. Assisting with risk assessments and identifying suitable control measures. Developing and maintaining safety documentation, such as manuals, procedures, and forms. Liaising with clients, HSE Inspectors, and external assessors. Fostering strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Supporting the development of a positive health and safety culture within the project team. About Our Client: Our client is an integrated design and build provider working in the water sector, with over 1,000 staff across eight regional centres. They support multiple long-term frameworks and joint ventures within the UK water industry. Key Responsibilities: Ensure compliance with UK health and safety law and regulations (including CDM). Provide guidance on HSE best practices and industry standards. What Our Client is Looking For: Extensive experience in health and safety, ideally within the construction industry. Strong knowledge of HSE directives and UK health and safety law. Familiarity with Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM). Knowledge of ISO 45001 or similar management systems. A formal qualification in Occupational Safety and Health (e.g., NEBOSH Construction Certificate). Valid CSCS card or equivalent (e.g., SHEA Water).
