The Senior Fees Clerk is responsible for developing and leading a proactive and professional Fees Team to successfully manage Chambers fee-related functions.
The role is hybrid and highly flexible, with Chambers being open to the individuals location, provided they can easily commute to either the Newcastle or Leeds office.
Lead and develop the Fees Team, setting clear goals, driving performance, and fostering a culture of accountability and growth.
Implement cutting-edge billing systems, optimise workflows, and stay ahead of industry advancements to enhance efficiency.
Manage all billing and fee collection activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and robust reporting for high-value cases.
Develop points of contact for fee-related matters, building strong relationships with barristers, clients, and teams across Chambers.
Analyse revenue trends and performance metrics, providing strategic recommendations to Chambers leadership.
Knowledge of billing, collections, and financial reporting, ideally within a legal or professional services environment.
~ Confident, professional, and diplomatic in managing sensitive issues and building relationships at all levels.
~7+ years in senior billing or financial operations roles, ideally in a Chambers setting familiarity with legal aid billing and public funding processes would be an advantage.
~ Proficiency with case management software (e.g., Chambers Lex) and advanced Microsoft Office skills.
