Our client has a remarkable specialist school providing education for young people aged 11 to 19 with complex care needs including behaviours that challenge and learning disabilities, often in association with autism spectrum conditions. Now looking to recruit an experienced SEN Teacher to join them on a permanent basis.
Provide high quality teaching covering a range of subjects -Be able to offer a creative and diverse lessons
-Supervise and support the classroom Teaching Assistants
-mplement school policies and practices, including those relating to safeguarding and equality of opportunity. -Carefully monitor the health, well-being and personal care of our pupils
Qualified Teacher status
-Thorough working knowledge of the curriculum and how to adapt this for pupils with SEN
-Experience of working with young people with ASD
-Understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures
-Ability to create and maintain strong nurturing relationships with young people
-Knowledge of strategies and visual teaching methods to engage reluctant learners.
-A flexible approach, a high level creativity and the ability to adapt teaching to meet individual needs
