EDAMH is a third sector organisation and charity which has been providing community-based services in EastDunbartonshire since 1999. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to make a real difference andis passionate about improving the lives of vulnerable people who are experiencing mental health difficulties anddomestic abuse.

You will lead a small group of colleagues who are talented and dedicated to their work with our clients and you willbe responsible to the Board of Directors.

Community Transport Glasgow (CTG) is a charity and company limited by guarantee and was established to provide reliefto communities of Glasgow and its environs, who are in need due to age, mobility, mental and physicaldisability, illness and poverty. This is achieved by providing affordable, reliable, accessible transportsolutions to the local communities we serve. CTG is one of the largest Community Transport Charities inScotland.

Our transport solutions are tailored to the needs of people who have difficulty accessing public transport. Thedemographics of the local communities we provide transport solutions for include older adults, those with adisability or mobility issues and those who are socially excluded.

In terms of transport solutions provided, CTG delivers just about every type of transport that community transportoperates. This includes group transport to local voluntary and community groups, community bus registeredtimetabled services, assisted support for learning school transport and demand responsive transport solutions -that assists individuals to access local services.

Following successful funding bid to the Motability Foundation, CTG is embarking on an exciting new 3 year project.This new project with MF will, through transport solutions, be a social connector, enabling people to get outand about within their local community, access the healthcare they need, participate in activities and socialevents, reduce social isolation and loneliness and increase people's physical and mental wellbeing.

Therefore, we are recruiting a 20 hour driver position to help us take this forward.

Iriss supports people, workers and organisations to make social work and social care support work better throughevidence based innovation. Iriss is a charity that works across Scotland and our principal funder is theScottish Government.

About the role

The Research Analysis Lead role is to provide high quality research and analysis support to the Iriss team. There area number of specified key activities attached to the role.

Key activities

We have summarised below the three key activities that will be attached to this role:

CSWO ANNUAL REPORT SUMMARY

Iriss is funded by the Office of the Chief Social Work Adviser in the Scottish Government to undertake the analysis,and produce an overview, of the Chief Social Work Officer (CSWO) Annual Reports.

These annual reports are a means for Councils to report on the delivery of social work services in their area,highlighting key activities, developments, and challenges. The summary report document that you will produce isintended to highlight key themes drawn from the reports received to improve understanding of the performance,improvement and challenges being experienced across the sector.

ADULT SUPPORT AND PROTECTION (ASP) BIENNIAL REPORT SUMMARY

This report provides a summary of the main themes emerging from the 32 ASP biennial reports from across Scotland,giving a general overview of the ASP landscape. Iriss is funded to analyse and report on behalf of the ScottishGovernment and the report you complete will be submitted to them.

ASP QUARTERLY DATASET ANALYSIS AND PRESENTATION

Iriss has been involved with the ASP community in Scotland over the last three years to develop a new minimum datasetthat ASP Committees can report against. That is now complete and the 32 Committees have started to submitquarterly against this new dataset. The type of data collected include demographic and referral routeinformation, as well a number of other agreed on key areas. The role for you here will be to collate, analyseand visually present this quarterly data back to ASP practitioners and the Scottish Government.

Who we are looking for

This role would suit someone with the following qualities and experience:

  • Desk/literature research and analysis skills: We are looking for someone with experience of theming and codinglarge amounts of material as this role involves the secondary analysis of research and reports.
  • Clearand accessible writing style: Key delivery areas of the role are synthesising large amounts of narrative andwritten material from reports and succinctly summarising that material.
  • Qualitative data analysis,interpretation and presentation: Ability and familiarity with the production of graphical representations anddata visualisations and an ability to carry out data quality control, validation and collation for large datasets is required.
  • Spreadsheets: An advanced level of using MS Excel/Google sheets to analyse and presentdata is essential.
  • Good communication and diplomacy: This role will involve working closely withcolleagues from Iriss and the Scottish Government to consider, draft and communicate these findings.

Specific experience in the third (charity) sector and/or social care/work areas are desirable but not arequirement.

A typical week in the role

In a typical week in the role, you might be doing the following:

  • Analysing Chief Social Worker Officer reports for key themes
  • Summarising literature and presenting it ina clear and accessible way
  • Meeting Scottish Government funders to talk through findings
  • Meetingwith Iriss colleagues to decide how to best communicate the findings from a literature review

A five day a week opportunity has arisen for a qualified counsellor to work in The Marie Trust Counselling andPsychotherapy Service in Glasgow.

We welcome applicants who are interested in job sharing or more part time hours. We work normal office hours 9-5pmMonday to Friday but with flexibility for some early evening work.

The service offers psychodynamically informed counselling to people affected by homelessness. If necessary, we seepeople for extended periods of time as many clients have faced significant adversity and trauma in their earlylife and often come with complex needs such as experience of addiction and prison. Part of the role can involveworking in women only services.

We are a supportive clinical team and have the other resources of The Marie Trust to refer into and use. The post ispermanent but subject to grant funding.
