Senior Indirect Tax Manager

Brewer Morris is exclusively partnered with a Global Insurance business to appoint a new Indirect Tax Senior Manager. You will lead the UK and International indirect tax function (excluding US), ensuring timetables and deadlines are met and appropriate advice is given to the wider business.

Duties:

  • Review and sign off of outsourced indirect tax compliance.
  • Timely and accurate filing of global VAT and IPT returns to ensure compliance and minimise penalties.
  • Management of indirect tax documentation and process controls to support internal risk control and meet senior accounting requirements.
  • Proactive enhancement of tax reporting processes and tax account reconciliations for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Regular coordination with external consultants and active management of VAT and IPT registrations.
  • Continuous monitoring and reporting on indirect tax issues, exposures, or opportunities to the Head of Tax.
  • Support in identifying and mitigating VAT risks globally, including due diligence and planning for corporate transactions.
  • Keep updated with changes in UK and international VAT laws.

Requirements:

  • Technically strong VAT specialist, with hands-on experience in compliance and reporting.
  • Prior VAT experience within the financial services sector, or advisory experience to such entities is advantageous.
  • Professional qualifications in tax or accounting are preferred, but not essential.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, capable of simplifying complex concepts.
  • A self-motivated, well-organized individual with a track record of successful delivery.
  • Previous IPT and insurance experience is highly beneficial, but not essential.
