Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant

Are you enthusiastic about assisting students with social, emotional, and mental health needs? We’re actively looking for a committed SEMH Teaching Assistant to work closely with students who have SEMH requirements. This role provides a fulfilling opportunity to create a meaningful impact on students with special educational needs (SEN).

Your Role:

  • Individualised Support: Provide 1:1 support to the student, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Behaviour Management : Implement strategies to address challenging behaviour and promote emotional well-being.
  • Curriculum Assistance : Assist the student with classwork, ensuring they stay engaged and achieve their potential.
  • Progress Tracking : Regularly assess the student’s progress and collaborate with the class teacher.
  • Team Collaboration : Work closely with the teaching team to create a cohesive and supportive classroom environment.

Requirements:

  • Experience : Previous experience supporting students with SEMH needs is desirable.
  • SEN Knowledge : Familiarity with SEMH conditions.
  • Qualifications : Hold a relevant degree or teaching assistant qualification, desirable but not mandatory.
  • DBS Check : Possess an enhanced child workforce DBS (registered on the update service or willing to obtain one).
  • An updated CV with academic and employment information from the last 10 years
