The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) role involves developing and implementing a clear strategy for the use of technology within the business. The CTO will create and oversee both internal and externally visible technology roadmaps.

This individual must understand and anticipate customer needs across the entire range of product lines, including land and air capabilities. The role requires engaging with key customers, suppliers, academic institutions, and technology partners to define and communicate the future technological requirements of the company.

Working Style: The role is based in Gloucestershire, but there are hybrid working patterns available.

Role: Regularly review and produce product and technology roadmaps, evaluate IR&D projects to help determine key deliverables, and build relationships with academic institutions and external engineering agencies.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Sole UK Nationality on account of Security Clearance
  • Background in Defence highly preferable
  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in engineering or technology leadership
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to perform effectively under pressure
  • Self-driven with the capability to multitask and work independently, while advancing the Engineering Department’s capabilities
  • Proven leadership and management skills, acting as a role model for staff and new recruits
