Job OverviewA key element of the role will be undertaking foul and surface water drainage strategies in conjunction with preparing Flood Risk Assessments. A good understanding of drainage design and hydraulic modelling is important for this role. An understanding of the design process from inception to construction of drainage and flood alleviation schemes will be critical in discharging your duties in this role.

The RoleAs a Flood Risk/Drainage Design Engineer you will work with a range of clients ranging from housing developments to national scale projects. Your responsibilities will include:
- Prepare Flood Risk Assessments
- Preparation of foul and surface water drainage strategies
- Produce conceptual design of flood protection measures
- Produce fee proposals
- Liaise with associate staff, check drawings and issue reports to clients
This could involve your development and or checking of Drainage Strategies, Flood Risk Assessments, the production or checking of design calculations, scheme details, and drawings. You will compile or assist in the production of technical specifications and general project information.
YouThe role will be suited to an existing Flood Risk / Drainage Design Engineer who is looking to get support and development in their career. Ideally, you will have:
- A degree in Civil Engineering or related science and interested in progressing towards Chartership
- Experience in Drainage Strategies and SuDs
- Experience in Surface Water Drainage Strategies
- Excellent understanding and working understanding of Flow and Microdrainage software packages
- Good working knowledge of AutoCAD OR Civils 3D
