Research Focus:
In the Smart Microscopy Group ( , we focus on understanding how to connect bioimage analysis with computer-controlled microscopy to generate automated and adaptive imaging workflows to enable quantitative and statistically meaningful results in complex biological systems.  Explore the realms of cell engineering to advance cardioprotective therapies, leveraging state-of-the-art smart microscopy technology. This innovative project promises to revolutionize the field and contribute to groundbreaking advancements in cardiovascular research.

The selected student will have the invaluable opportunity to travel to our partner institution for specialized training, fostering a rich cross-cultural academic experience.

We invite passionate and talented individuals with a background in cell biology, engineering, or a related field to join our dynamic team. 1 UK honours degree (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline, Materials Science, Physics, Medical Sciences, Biotechnology or in a related subject. The applicant should be motivated to work in a multidisciplinary team at the interface between imaging, data processing and biomedical sciences. Prior experience in microscopy, machine learning and image data analysis will be beneficial.
