Technical Project Delivery Manager

Identify tasks, activities, interdependencies and outputs for the work with the project team to track and monitor progress against the plan throughout the life of the project. Produce project Commitment Cases and Request for Financial Authority (RFA) to spend. Challenge and test supplier proposals to ensure that plans are realistic, achievable and VfM. Develop work breakdown structures and strategy for delivery of ICT services. Support the project manager to identify options to optimise delivery through resource smoothing, resource levelling and rescheduling of activities. Ensure that stakeholder responsibilities and needs are understood and addressed in reporting arrangements. Apply Project Controls, monitor and analyse delivery, report progress and highlight areas of risk and opportunity.
Systems ImplementationYou will manage the installation, testing, implementation or decommissioning of Extend and Evolve ICT infrastructure including cabling, equipment, hardware and associated software, following plans and instructions in accordance with agreed standards (e.g. JSP604, JSP440). Undertake design activities required to coordinate and develop service designs packages including any Government Furnished Assets (GFA) required. Facilitate the testing of hardware and software components, resolution of malfunctions, and recording of results. Report details of hardware and software installed so that configuration management records can be updated. Take responsibility for installation projects, providing effective team leadership, including information flow to and from the customer during work. Work with suppliers to develop and implement delivery plans and method statements. Monitor the effectiveness of installations and ensure that appropriate recommendations for change are made. Takes action to ensure supplier technical milestones are met including, where appropriate, handover to the customer. Ensure tests of hardware and/or software are carried out, calling on SMEs and external resources if required. Act on Security Accreditation Coordinator (SAC) advice to ensure all site implementations align with agreed business security policy (JSP440) and RMADS. Due to the nature and urgency of this post, candidates holding or who have held high level security clearance in the past are most welcome to apply.
