Job Title: Facilities Machine Mechanic
Schedule: Monday – Friday 7:00am – 3:30pm
Facility location: Chester, CT

Summary: Performs Maintenance and repairs on facilities equipment general building maintenance.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Under minimal supervision, Maintains heating and HVAC and equipment throughout.
  • Make sure all buildings are serviced, inspected and all paperwork is filled out.
  • Adapts to new procedures, techniques, tools, material and or equipment to meet the more complex requirements of the position.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals.
  • Repair machinery in the facilities.
  • Be able to replace carpet and ceiling tile as needed.
  • Know of Whelen procedures and policies.
  • Run equipment that you are qualified on with care.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet multiple deadlines while maintaining a cooperative working relationship with employees and supervisor.
  • Check all the fleet to ensure cleanliness and fueled.
  • Make sure all the fleet equipment is current on oil charges and service.
  • Work with the JIRA system to ensure everything is documented.
  • Keep inventory of parts for equipment.
  • Maintain records on the equipment.

  • Has advanced and specialized expertise, typically developed through a combination of jobrelated training and considerable on-the-job experience.
  • Completes assignments daily.
  • Proposes improvements to processes.
  • Works autonomously within established procedures and practices

Education and Experience

  • High School w/5+ years’ experience

Physical demands and abilities

  • Able to lift 35 pounds.
  • Regularly perform repetitive tasks.
  • Able to stand for entire shift.
