We are currently recruiting for a Enviromental Technician for a project commencing ASAP in Tarbert, County Kerry. The project is set to last 1 year minimum and will be operated on a rotation schedule. Profile:

  • Degree in Engineering discipline or BSc Environmental subject, plus a Masters degree in either Environmental Engineering or Environmental Technology.
  • Broad experience (5 years) of a range of environmental topics across construction sites and be able to demonstrate understanding across these topics.
  • An ability to interpret local environmental regulations and guidance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills and general computing skills.
  • Excellent numeracy and logic skills.
  • Experience working to ISO 14001 standards.
Duties:
  • Managing the effective implementation of consents including the discharge of planning conditions.
  • Liase with local authorities in order to request the necessary environmental licenses.
  • Writing Environmental Management Plans for construction project including waste minimization, water minimization and carbon reduction.
  • Programming and scheduling of key activities and timely delivery of project milestones, monthly reports and actions.
  • Develop, set up and manage the process for Site Waste Management Plan for all construction projects.
  • Pollution incident investigation and reporting to Environment Agency.
  • Advising on effective compliance with Environmental management system held at international level.
  • Advise the company on local environmental issues in relation to the business i.e. environmental permits.
  • Undertaking environmental quality control reviews of consultants and construction teams
  • RAMS revision for environmental issues, check, approve and monitor PTW related to environmental.
  • Prepare site inspections, reports, etc.
  • Carry out environmental monitor lists.
  • Resolve any emergency environmental issues.
  • Draft statistics for the reports needed by the client.
  • Share the environmental formation with H & S coordinator
  • Implement environmental management procedures for certain positions
