KAP Technical Role: Factory Operative Job Type: Full-Time Permanent Salary: £13 p/h - £14 p/h Hours: Day Shift / Late Shift (Backshift) Role Overview: As a Factory Operative in our timber frame factory, you will work as part of a team to produce timber frame panels according to production schedules. This role offers the opportunity to rotate among various workstations, gaining experience in different aspects of timber frame production. Requirements:

  • Previous manufacturing experience, preferably in a factory environment (experience in the timber frame industry or joinery is a plus).
  • Comfortable working with pneumatic hand tools, using a tape measure, and performing manual handling tasks (training provided).
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and provide support to colleagues.
  • Excellent attention to detail to ensure high-quality production of panels.
  • Ability to work within given tolerances and follow plans.
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills through training and development opportunities.
Responsibilities:
  • Operating on a semi-automated manufacturing line to produce closed panel timber frame wall units using specialist carpentry machinery.
  • Rotating between various departments, performing tasks such as cutting materials, inserting thermal insulation, stapling, inserting lifting straps, fitting plasterboard, and preparing finished products for transportation.
  • Prioritizing Health and Safety by adhering to procedures outlined in the company's policy to ensure personal safety and the safety of colleagues.
  • Working towards achieving production deadlines and meeting targets.
  • Taking initiative and following instructions from supervisors to complete assigned tasks.
  • No formal qualifications are required, but a flexible approach and a willingness to learn and contribute at any stage of the production line are essential.
