Location: Covering Crawley & surrounding areas
Progression : Opportunity to progress to the role of Senior Maintenance Electrician
If youre an experienced, self-motivated electrician with an in-depth knowledge of domestic installations, then this could be the job for you.
This is an exciting and varied role offering a great opportunity to work on a wide range of projects. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to enhance their skills through enhanced training programs and exposure to a variety of works on all elements of domestic electrics, smart home, and renewable technologies. The department is going from strength to strength allowing for opportunities for career progression in the future.
As the largest electrical contractor in the new-build housing sector, we wire over 24,000 homes a year on behalf of the leading house builders. Established for over 40 years, weve built a strong reputation for high quality customer service, and youll play an important part in helping us maintain this.
The successful applicant will cover Crawley and the surrounding areas, you will be visiting occupied homes in and around the surrounding areas to investigate and fix faults. Putting things right will of course be an important aim of the job but youll also need to provide a professional, friendly service for homeowners as their experience really matters to us.
Our office-based team will co-ordinate your appointments, but youll also be in control of trying to resolve issues over the phone where you possibly can. Working efficiently is an essential part of the role.
Well supply you with a VW Transporter van and all the equipment youll need, including an iPad for accessing technical information.
Responsibilities
- Visit customers homes to rectify faults
- Installing late extras and alterations to circuits within occupied homes
- Providing full reports for each completed job, with details of any corrective actions taken
- Complete quality audit reports where required
Skills and Attributes
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation
- AM2
- City & Guilds 2382 (relevant 17th Edition or 18th Edition) and 2391 or 2395 (desirable)
- JIB Gold card
Attributes
- Excellent people and communication skills
- Calm and logical approach to fault-finding
- Ability to carry out repairs to hidden wiring and install additional cables, with the minimum of disturbance
- Organisational skills
- Full driving licence
Experience
- Candidates must have experience of domestic electrical work
- Experience of heating systems, TV Satellite, Alarms, MVHR, MEV, ventilation systems and door entry would be advantageous however full training will be provided
