Our role as a Senior Summer School Student Welfare Officer not only provides a chance to earn money but also to develop transferable skills for future employment, while experiencing a fun and unforgettable summer.

Every year, from late June to mid-August, we welcome over 6000 young students (aged 8-17) from different parts of the world to one of our seven summer schools. Our aim is to provide them with a fun and educational holiday experience, which includes English language classes and engaging activities and excursions. Theyhelp withthepastoral and well-being needs of our students during their stay.
The Senior Student Welfare Officer takes a lead role in supporting not only students, but the team of Student Welfare Officers while supporting the Welfare and Accommodation Manager.
Contracts: You can choose your contract of 2-6 weeks between late-June to mid-August. As you are involved in the wrap-around care for our students, you must be residential for this contract. Great news, as you don’t need to be local to our school locations to apply

What does it take to be a Study Holiday Student Welfare Officer?
For this senior position, you must have residential experience and preferably experience of working within a summer school environment.
Confidence , with a good understanding how to work professionally with young people. You’ll be supporting young students who visit us from overseas to learn English. You’ll be guided by your Welfare and Accommodation Manager and/or the Centre Director, and acting as their responsible adult, and/or support their Group Leader.
Safeguarding is a big part of the job, and we take it very seriously. So, as you would expect, if successful we will facilitate an Enhanced DBS check as part of our safer recruitment policy
You will allocate the accommodation for and make plans to ensure that our overseas students’ needs are met, prior to arrival. You’ll also complete admin duties, such as logbooks and Health & Safety records.
You’ll cover the duties of care for our students overnight, on a rota basis. Additionally, providing pastoral support to ensure their holistic well-being and welfare.
Be a great Communicator with a good level of spoken and written English.
This is a fully immersive working experience.
You’ll take part in pastoral care duties, including night-duties on a rotating basis
