Almshouse Clerk

Lady D ’ Arcy with Fynches and Berryfield Cottages Almshouse Charity is a small, friendly almshouse charity based in the heart of Colchester. The charity manages 27 properties.

We are seeking a new clerk to be responsible for providing all necessary services to Residents and Trustees to ensure the smooth running of the almshouses and charity.

Ideally you have experience at provide the duties of a clerk to Almshouses. You can work compassionately with residents to provide support to them whilst also providing the necessary professional services to the Trustees to ensure the Almshouses are run correctly.

You will provide the day to day management of the almshouses which will include:

- being the first point of contact for all residents including management resolution of any problems/complaints and provision of suitable necessary assistance

- management of the maintenance of the almshouses and grounds by identifying works required, obtaining any necessary quotes and appointing the contractors to carry out any works.

- maintaining the financial records of the charity

- supporting the Trustee with all necessary information for their meetings and advice on any compliance / regulation changes

- support finding new residents when necessary.
