Story Behind the Need:

• Business group: CRM, Sales & Branch Performance – Performance engineering team, part of Customer Servicing engineering in client, focused on providing solutions that assist front line staff across channels in deepening relationship with customers, providing better service and offering better products to them, and help improve sales & productivity along the way.
• The group is a mix of architects, technology leads, business systems analysts, designers, SMEs, developers, and testers who innovate and transform, develop customer servicing technology roadmaps, ensure end-to-end project delivery, support day to day operations, write technical stories, develop and test code, manage stakeholders and related teams.
• Project: to deliver changes for the Partial Mortgage Insurance Coverage project – new product for mortgage insurance that will be allowing customer to choose a lower % of mortgage insurance coverage as alternative options; On the project developer will be doing design, development, testing, individual or unit testing, in collaboration with other technical teams to work on interface. Phase of project: requirements gathering done, at phase of design/development.

Typical Day in Role:

• The Sr. iWay ETL Engineer is responsible for design and development of ETL solutions to for complex business and technology initiatives. Along with providing thought leadership, they will help navigating us through production issues and investigations, and being a key advocate of efficiency and continual improvement as we work to modernize
• Analyze and estimate effort for new scope and requirements
• Design and development ETL solutions on multiple complex initiatives.
• Stay abreast of modern technologies and best practices, and recommend introduction of new technology and processes
• Act as the Subject Matter Expert and manage admin functions for ETL and iWay
• Investigate failures, perform root cause analysis, and implement fixes; utilize internal defect tracking tool to create detailed, high quality error report
• Work with product owners and test engineers to support QA processes, review test plans, test coverage and help improve test automation
• Tech Stack: iWay iSM and Data Migrator – back-end

Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:

• 10 years’ experience as a developer
• 3+ years’ hands-on iWay iSM (iWay Service Manager) and DM (Data Migrator) development experience
• 3+ years’ SQL/plSQL and database programming (Preferably DB2)
• 5+ years’ experience with deployment processes and release pipelines. Eg: Jenkins, Bitbucket/Git Unix/AIX script experience
• 5+ years’ experience with data modeling and mapping

Nice-To-Have Skills:

• Experience in agile methodologies like SCRUM/Kanban
• Developer experience from FI/ banking
• Experience with SaaS/cloud solution integration with ETL
• Experience with performance tuning and optimization

Soft Skills Required:

• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work in cross functional teams

Education:

• Bachelors in technical field e.g., computer science, engineering

Best VS. Average Candidate:

• Ideal candidate needs to be ok with flexible hours; is a strong team player; resourceful; requires minimal hand holding as a is a senior role; strong with the technical capabilities outlined in must haves
