This role is working 40 hours per week for 39 weeks per year during school term time and inset plus 6 weeks holiday to be taken during school closure periods.

About the role:

As School Cook at Arc Oakbridge School , you will be an integral part of our team who put the children and young people at the heart of everything we do. You will produce and prepare food to comply with the menu in accordance with the food hygiene standards. This will include preparing cold food, plating warm food, hot and cold drinks plus any packed lunches, group catering and event catering as required. You will check food deliveries as required, ensure all stock is stored appropriately and used in rotation. You will ensure manage stock taking as required & prepare ‘shopping lists’ along with general kitchen cleaning including washing up, manually and by machine.

About you :

For this role, we are looking for someone who has an awareness of food handling procedures, and ideally holds Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate. You will have good verbal communication skills, be numerate, a good organiser, and a team player. You will be self-motivated with a ‘can do’ attitude. Arc Oakbridge School, part of Kedleston Group, is an independent specialist day school in central Birmingham for children and young people with autism aged between the ages of 7 and 16. Our school offers a calm, low arousal, safe, positive and nurturing place where young people with a primary need of autism ( ASC ), including Asperger’s Syndrome and associated complex needs can learn and grow. Cutting edge technology, including virtual reality, is used effectively as part of both the transition to the school and in teaching and support on an everyday basis.
