As a Senior AI Engineer, you will be responsible for planning and implementing systems to create thrilling, engaging, and competitive AI. You will work closely with our world-class design team to iterate and improve on these systems, providing scalable and accessible AI opponents for all skill levels. You will use your passion for games and gaming AI to push for higher quality at every opportunity and promote code excellence throughout the whole team by mentoring those with less experience.

Key Duties Include

  • Work closely with the design team to implement genre-leading AI for players to compete against
  • Own the planning and delivery of large bodies of work, with minimal supervision
  • Support less experienced team members, mentoring them, and raising the standards of the whole Engineering team
  • Pro-actively seek opportunities to improve the quality of everything we do
  • Actively take part in our collaborative and creative team spirit

Requirements

  • Experience writing AI Systems on one or more AAA console/PC titles
  • Excellent knowledge of gaming AI methodologies, such as Behaviour Trees/FSM, navigation techniques, and considerations for physics-based gameplay mechanics
  • Demonstrable experience in Vehicle based AI
  • Strong C++ skills, including profiling, debugging and optimizing code
  • Solid understanding of code architecture best practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to plan and meet scheduled goals
  • Work effectively and independently with minimum guidance and support
  • Strong interest in AI and its application in and out of video games
  • Passion for games and game development

Desirable

  • Experience with Unreal Engine 4 or 5 on a AAA title, and scripting with Blueprints
  • A knack for building challenging and enjoyable AI experiences
  • Experience mentoring other Engineers
  • Experience working on current-generation consoles
  • Familiarity with building data-driven features
  • Experience with multi-threaded programming
