Gloucester Gloucestershire, United Kingdom Gloucestershire Health & Care NHS Foundation Trust Full time

We are looking for Community Nurses (experienced and newly qualified) who are seeking a new challenge and career development within a friendly nursing team. We seek nurses with passion and commitment who hold patient experience and care at the heart of their nursing practice and share our organisational values. In return we offer you support along with excellent training and a real commitment to your personal development plan with opportunities for continued professional development and study.

You need to be able to work over a shift system which includes early (8-4pm) and late (12-8pm) shifts across 7 days including weekends (1 in 4) and bank holidays.
As a Registered Nurse you will work as part of an Integrated Community Team alongside our MDT colleagues undertaking care of people in their homes across the diverse range of interventions and case management opportunities that community nursing offers, including complex care situations, chronic disease, admission avoidance and end of life care.

To excel in this role you will require excellent communication skills, the courage to make clinical decisions and a willingness to develop your potential. You will require current NMC registration as a Registered Nurse. Post-registration experience is helpful but not essential and we have an excellent preceptorship programme for newly qualified nurses with Practice Facilitator support including the opportunity of completing the level 7 (Masters) 15 credit validated module Preceptorship for Healthcare (AP7026).

Future progression opportunities include District Nurse Qualification at Specialist Practice level (allowing you to lead a team of Community Nurses) and Assessment and Prescribing modules.

We are a modern trust, which means whilst on the go you'll be equipped for mobile working (laptop and smart phone device).

If you would like to work for an Organisation that values its staff, aims to deliver the best care, offering compassion to all patients, their carers and families, and you can demonstrate this to us, we would love to hear from you
At Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust, we are supportive of the people we care for in the community and aim to provide a fully responsive service to everyone who needs it. Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust is part of the NHS. The difference is the Trust is accountable to local people, rather than to Government, and so we are able to work closely with our community to develop services in the way that best suits the needs of local people.

Our Staff Survey results showed people at our Trust feel they are engaged, part of a team and work for a compassionate and inclusive organisation.

Our overall scores were better than average in eight of nine themes and level in one - the best overall results for a community, mental health and learning disabilities Trust in the south west and first equal amongst all sector NHS providers within the region too.
We provide a Multi-professional preceptorship programme that is aligned to the National Preceptorship Framework for Nursing and have been awarded the Interim quality mark from NHS England. Our programme is provided to all Newly Qualified Nurses, Nursing Associates, Internationally Educated Practitioners, Allied Health Professionals and Return to Practice Practitioners. In addition to the programme we also offer all preceptees the opportunity of enrolling and completing the level 7 (Masters) 15 credit validated module Preceptorship for Healthcare (AP7026).

Newly qualified Social Workers are offered the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment programme (ASYE) which is similar to a preceptorship programme. Gloucestershire Health and Care is committed to embedding and providing personalised care through all of its services as part of our high-quality care strategy. The purpose of personalised care is to empower people to lead the lives they want to live. Personalised care starts with a conversation with people about what matters to them. It builds on what people can do, as well as addressing their health needs. Including new ways of working and delivering care, emphasising that we need to make effective use of the full range of our peoples skills and experience to deliver the best possible patient care. The qualification, training & experience requirements for the role are underlined in the Job Description/Person Specification.
