A newly created Financial Controller position has become available within a dynamic business on the outskirts of Preston. This role is an ideal first or 2nd time industry move for a candidate from an Accountancy Practice background. Whilst there are many technical accounting responsibilities as part of this role, there will also be opportunities to add value in other areas relating to growth initiatives and process/system improvements with plenty of stakeholder interaction, providing strategic financial guidance at a senior level.

Your New Role as Financial Controller:

Working in a team of 5 finance staff, this Financial Controller role acts as no.2 support to an experienced and engaging Finance Director.

As Financial Controller, specific duties will include:

• Leading a team of 2 Assistant Accountants, responsible for their training and development
• Oversee the preparation of financial reports including income statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements
• Manage internal controls and ensure regulatory compliance
• Review existing systems and processes, recommending and implementing improvements where required, and leading on any future system implementations/upgrades

The ideal candidate will be fully ACA or ACCA qualified with experience within Accountancy Practice, with some industry experience ideally. A forward thinking approach is required with an analytical mindset and the ability to interpret complex financial data to provide strategic insights.
