  • Producing high-quality technical documentation, including manuals, specifications, and training materials.
  • Ensuring consistency and accuracy in technical writing.
  • Collaborating with engineers and other stakeholders to gather and clarify technical information.
Job Purpose: The purpose of the role is the creation of technical documentation that supports the design, manufacture, operation and lifetime maintenance of manufactured systems. This role ensures that all technical content is clear, accurate, and aligned with company standards, facilitating effective communication with internal teams and external stakeholders. The author will focus on authoring information for inclusion in a modular document system, enhancing document usability and consistency. Main Responsibilities:
  • Author user manuals, installation guides, technical specifications, and other documentation required for products within a modular document type system.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to ensure that technical content accurately reflects product design and operation.
  • Review and edit documentation produced by other team members for clarity, accuracy, and adherence to company standards.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop marketing materials that accurately represent the technical capabilities of products.
  • Organize and conduct interviews with subject matter experts to extract relevant technical information.
  • Update existing documentation to reflect product changes, enhancements, and feedback from users.
  • Develop and implement documentation standards and best practices to improve quality and efficiency, particularly within the modular document framework.
  • Participate in training sessions and workshops to understand product functionalities and user requirements.
Key Attributes Qualifications & Experience:
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in technical writing or documentation within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in documentation tools (e.g., Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, or specialized authoring software) and/or modular documentation systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Experience with project management and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
