Trainee Blaster

BAM Ritchies requires a Trainee Shotfirer to join the team working at the Glensanda Quarry, which is situated near Oban on the West Coast of Scotland and is accessed daily by boat. No previous experience is required as you will receive full training. You will learn how to set out a blast, carry out a face survey using the laser or drone, produce the blast specifications that will be used by the team before charging, how to charge the blast, and after blasting is complete how to carry out the post blast specification. All of these processes will be carried out to the highest safety standards under the Quarry Regulations 1999.

MPQC / SPA Contractor Safety Passport
CSCS
Quarry Regulations Training
Level 3 Diploma in Shotfiring
Level 2 Certificate in Face Profiling
Level 2 Award in Explosives Storage
Must be at least aged 21 and hold a current UK driving license.
