The Package

  • £80,000 Base Salary
  • £10,000 Commission
  • £5,000 Car Allowance
  • 3% Pension Contributions
  • 22x Days Annual Leave
  • 8x Day Public Holidays

The Company

Established in 2014 by the current Managing Director, Elliot Hawkins, Hawks has grown and thrived by embracing and applying the latest technology and training techniques to the crane hire and construction sector.

Year on year, the company has increased its turnover along with the size and capacity of its crane fleet.

On top of this, new divisions such as our construction-training centre have been founded to further enhance our range of support to our clients within the market.

 

The Role: Technical Sales Director (Crane Hire, Contract Lifting & Labour Hire)

As a Technical Sales Director you will be responsible for finding and progressing new leads for the three main sales categories:

  • Crawler Crane Hire from 25t to 300t Crawler Cranes with luffing jibs.
  • Labour Hire within the Lifting Sector.
  • Lifting Projects – Lift Planning and Supervision of Crawler and Mobile Cranes.

 

You would be expected to build relationships with construction companies across the UK. You will have the opportunity to supply contractors working on some of the most prestigious projects in the country such as HS2 & Hinkley Point C.

Complete responsibility for the whole sales cycle from start (lead generation) to end (signing of hire contracts).

Key Responsibilities in the role

  • Provide Technical CAD Drawings to win work.
  • Researching and developing new business through various sales activities.
  • Building sustained relationships with current customers to ensure long term growth.
  • Meeting weekly gross profit sales targets set by the Managing Director of the company.
  • Visiting sites and occasionally entertaining clients.

 

Expected Candidate Characteristics

  • Pride and passion for the work that is produced.
  • Personable character and are able to communicate with all levels of management within the company.
  • Proven track record of meeting targets or deadlines set in a previous role.
  • Work well within a team environment.
  • Good technical understand of the lifting industry and IT system (CAD knowledge would be advantageous).
  • Technical Knowledge within the crane industry would be preferred but not essential.

We promote the use of IT systems such as 3D Lift Planners, CAD designs and other IT systems to ‘wow’ our customers and make ourselves more efficient in our roles.

Technical training will be provided so previous crane experience isn’t required, but would be advantageous for applying applicants.
