London, United Kingdom Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust Full time

The fracture clinic is a busy unit running Monday to Friday. The clinic plays an essential role within the Orthopaedic department, managing patients with a wide variety of conditions referred from the accident and emergency department, and is often the first point of contact for specialist treatment.

Patients seen in the clinic include those with fractures and injuries being treated both conservatively and with surgical management. Due to this diversity in patients, you will have the opportunity to develop a wide range of skills including applying various casts and splints, removing k-wires and running virtual clinics. For this role we are seeking a dynamic, patient centered, hardworking, enthusiastic individual, who has appropriate experience in orthopaedics. You must currently hold an orthopaedic qualification or have relevant experience, and possess a certificate in plastering or be willing to complete the course within 18 months of starting. The post holder will be responsible for the day to day co-ordination of the fracture clinic and the running of the virtual clinics.

They will be involved in the assessment, planning and provision of specialist Orthopaedic advice and procedures such as casting and splinting to provide the patient with the best outcome following their injury.

The post holder will provide clinical supervision to other staff and students and may undertake research and lead clinical audits in their own specialist area.

They will support the clinic manager with rota management, investigation of incidents, stock management and quality assurance to ensure we are providing the best care for our patients.

Ensure the safety and well being of services users, and always working in a manner that promotes dignity and human rights through the adoption of person centered care principles.
