Stoke-on-Trent based company Clive Durose Ltd is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to head up the growth of its Precision Timber Handrails CNC manufacturing unit.
The ability to develop strong customer relationships is critical. Your focus will be on Joinery Manufacturers, Builders, Main Contractors, Developers and other associated partners within the Construction Industry to win repeat business.
You will be comfortable visiting clients on occasion and should possess the ability to engage in a highly professional and credible manner, asking incisive questions regarding the use of our products and service.
Being up to date with IT, social media, and other platforms are prerequisites of the role
Preparing estimates is another significant part of the role and will take perhaps 50% of your time.
Are you dynamic enough for this role?
Specific duties include:-
- The preparation of detailed estimates and customer quotations using Excel and existing quoting aids.
- Following up quotes and winning repeat customer sales. Lead high quality, major tender submissions and subsequent presentations.
- Development of the customer base.
- Planning department workflow to meet value output and departmental efficiency.
- Staff recruitment and development.
- Assist with marketing and maintaining business unit’s presence with email campaigns, on social media, in websites and other communication methods.
Key Competencies
Experience will demonstrate that the candidate possesses the following key competences:
- Must understand architectural and engineering drawings.
- Ability to use CAD would be beneficial.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Leadership qualities.
- Excellent planning and organisation skills.
- Strong relationship builder who gains support from internal and external contacts.
- Exceptional analytic skills.
- Confident with Word, Excel and Social Media platforms.
Personal Qualities:
- Professional but amiable and able to communicate with people at all levels.
- Enthusiastic and committed to business goals with a genuine and positive approach to teamwork and supporting colleagues.
- Settled and secure personal life.
Applicants must have a full clean UK driving license.
Experience:
Experience within a similar multi-disciplinary environment and industry is advantageous. Candidates with appropriate Sales and Management history in a manufacturing B2B business preferred.
Candidates will need to demonstrate a proven track record of moving sales opportunities forward to ultimate success in a similar industry and role plus an ability to work on multiple projects.
