Mobile Crane Fitter
Working Hours: Monday to Friday
First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Mobile Crane Fitter on behalf of one of our fantastic clients who require someone to cover the area of Newport and surrounding areas.
Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on heavy mobile cranes to ensure their reliable performance and compliance with safety standards.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in cranes, employing sound technical knowledge to identify and rectify problems efficiently.
Adhere to service schedules and follow maintenance checklists to ensure comprehensive and thorough servicing of the cranes.
Replace faulty or worn-out parts with new ones, ensuring the use of high-quality components to maintain the crane's integrity.
Testing and Calibration: Conduct testing and calibration procedures on crane components, such as load limiters and safety devices, to verify accurate functioning.
Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, including crane operators and supervisors, to coordinate maintenance activities and address operational needs.
Heavy Plant Experience: Substantial experience in maintaining and servicing heavy plant machinery, preferably including mobile cranes.
Mechanical Aptitude: In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and electrical components, with the ability to diagnose and repair mechanical faults.
Technical Training: Relevant technical qualifications or certifications in heavy plant mechanics or a related field are advantageous.
Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical issues.
A commitment to adhering to safety protocols and ensuring the safe operation of the cranes.
Excellent organisational skills to manage work orders, spare parts inventory, and maintenance schedules.
