South Coast Nursing Homes is an established and successful, family owned and managed, care home company based in Worthing, West Sussex. We currently operate 9 homes across East and West Sussex. We have 359 beds and have just added a further 55 beds to our portfolio with the opening of a new Nursing home in central Worthing, called The Poets. The Head Chef role will operate here and within the adjacent Home called Berkeley Lodge. Each of our registered homes offers the highest standards of resident care and comfort, 24 hours

day and night, for long and short-term stays. Reporting into our Chef Manager and Executive Chef, this role involves delivering outstanding quality home cooked, nutritious food dishes at our state-of-the-art kitchen that services The Poets and Berkeley Lodge in Worthing. The Head Chef must be able to implement the standards set by the Executive chef, always looking to drive the food offering forwards, delivering new dishes which inspire and delight

providing a real wow factor to mealtimes. This will include the physical environment such as table settings, cleanliness and hygiene. Further responsibilities will include sensible planning and buying of ingredients; Monthly kitchen audits; Training the team in the correct use and maintenance of equipment; Meeting with Chefs and Kitchen assistants to engage them in the required standards and overall vision; Reporting major issues and solutions through to the Executive chef, as and when necessary to escalate. The successful candidate will possess: Level 2 Chef (Professional Cooking) minimum requirement for this role. The role will require experience busy catering environment A Food Hygiene Level 2/ 3 qualification, or greater will be required. A passion for food. Benefits: £16 per hour
