We provide individual lifelong relationship-based independent advocacy and abroad range of imaginative participatory and engagement opportunities for Care Experienced people acrossScotland. We work alongside Corporate Parents and communities to broaden understanding and create change. Wework with policy makers, leaders, and elected representatives locally and nationally to shape law, policy, andpractice, working together to build on the aspirations of The Promise and secure positive change.

As a project, Communities that Care works to create a world where Care Experienced children, young people, and adultsare known, understood, welcomed, celebrated, and loved. The aim of the Communities that Care Team is to educatethe public about the reality of care (as told to us by Care Experienced people), challenge stigma around careexperience, and create the conditions for children, young people, and adults with care experience tothrive.

We are seeking a passionate and talented communicator to join our Communities that Care Team as a DevelopmentOfficer. Working to shape, deliver, and evaluate our work in schools nationwide, with a particular focus inRenfrewshire, you will provide training and support to educational establishments and organisations. You willalso deliver our Care Aware workforce training to employers and organisations and potentially the wider UK,helping to create conditions for Care Experienced people to thrive within the workplace.

As an individual with a background working with children and young people, you are adept at creating and deliveringlearning, teaching, and project plans, with experience providing dynamic training to a range of audiences.Confident writing reports and evidencing practice and impact, you have excellent interpersonal and communicationskills, as well as the ability to develop strong professional relationships. Committed to child and humanrights, working inclusively, and with the belief that young people can make transformative change in theirlives, you understand how structural barriers, social oppression/liberation and intersectionality shape ourworld. With a deep knowledge and desire to learn about the issues affecting Care Experienced people, you arekeen to help create meaningful positive change, challenge stigma, and to keep The Promise.

There is an expectation that the postholder will have a regular presence within the National Office in Glasgow andacross Renfrewshire. Home working is offered as part of our commitment to flexible working and wider travelacross Scotland will be necessary. Given the remit of the role, as well as the need from team members tocontribute to our diverse calendar of exciting local and national participation groups, some evening and weekendwork, including overnight stays, will be necessary.

We are seeking a passionate and strategic leader to join our team as the Business Development Director. You will playa vital role in driving forwards Who Cares? Scotland’s vision by leading the development of strategicpartnerships and securing key funding opportunities. As manager for the Fundraising and Partnerships Team, youwill oversee grants, trusts, community fundraising, public tenders, and the setting of income targets. Byforging strong relationships with corporate and external stakeholders, as well as overseeing our strategicaffiliation with the John Lewis Partnership, your role will expand our public education, income generation, andbusiness development aims. To interweave the organisation’s development of public education training programmeswith our core fundraising mission, you will also manage our Creating Communities that Care team, who play avital role in developing our external training offerings.

As an individual with a background of 5+ years in senior management, preferably in the non-profit sector, you havedemonstrable experience in business development, fundraising, and grant writing. You possess a proven trackrecord of successfully securing high-value grants and partnerships from diverse funding sources, leading on thedevelopment of strategic plans, and reaching key performance targets with accountability to diversestakeholders. As a seasoned manager and mentor, you can also collaborate across organisations, fostering aculture of innovation and continuous improvement amongst your colleagues, our volunteers, and our partnerorganisations. The right candidate for this post will not only bear responsibility for leading core fundingstrategy, but also serve as a spokesperson for the organisation, representing its mission, values, and impact toexternal stakeholders. You are, therefore, committed to child rights and human rights, the successfulimplementation of The Promise, and the belief that young people can make transformative change happen in theirlives if given the opportunity.

We have office locations in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Paisley, Bellshill, Kilmarnock, and Dundee. Aberlour Child Care Trust has recently launched a new family outreach service, Aberlour Sustain Clackmannanshire.This service works alongside families, communities and partners to offer caring and responsive support to youngpeople and families. Aberlour Sustain Clackmannanshire delivers the support families need, when they need it,every day of the year. The aim of the service is to ensure that children and young people can continue toflourish at home, at school and in their local community.

Working with Social Work Services, this innovative and creative new service focuses on supporting young people aged 0– 18 years, who may be on the ‘edge of care’ so that they remain living with their family in their localcommunities.

Our Service works with young people and their families to enhance relationships, build on existing strengths andinterests, help build confidence and encourage new community connections. Our aim is to help all families feelsafe, confident, capable, and included. Our approach has been developed through consultation with families andpartners.

This post is to provide cover for maternity leave. We expect the post to last for 11 months.

What we are looking for....

We are looking for candidates who are passionate about supporting young people, families and communities, who areflexible and share our vision that collaborative working and relationship based early intervention is the bestoption for young people and families who are feeling overwhelmed or excluded. This post is being offered on atemporary basis until February 2025 to cover Maternity.

Not afraid to test new ways of working, you will bring a fresh, caring, compassionate and collaborative approachwhich responds empathically to the needs of young people and their families. The work will include earlymornings, evenings and weekends. You will have experience of direct practice within this field of work,including child/adult protection issues as well as having experience of working with children and youngpeople.

You will work within a variety of locations in the Clackmannanshire area, including the office base in Alloa, familyhomes, schools and community settings.

About the role

High quality stewardship of our existing supporters will be one of the key responsibilities, alongside managing adynamic team of fundraisers, and developing new income streams.

About you

We are looking for the right candidate to take our team to the next level. You will need to demonstrate ability tobuild strong relationships internally and externally to secure long term sustainable income. You will:

• Be passionate about our work and able to convey that to a range of audiences

• Can work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels

We are looking for someone to join our finance department working 37.5 hours per week. Most of our head office staffare currently working from home. There will be desk space available in our Stirling office however individualsare able to work a mix of home and office work.

Using your knowledge of financial systems and proficient IT skills you will support a portfolio of services and actas their main contact within the finance department. You will raise, send and organise the payment of invoices,reconcile company accounts and chase late payments.

You will ideally have a relevant professional qualification or significant equivalent experience.
