The Victoria Hotel & Spa has a new exciting position to join the newest Source Spa and Wellness team in the Brend Collection. This beautiful hotel & spa is located on Sidmouth's spectacular seafront facing the rolling waves of the English Channel along the world heritage Jurassic coast.

As a Senior Spa Therapist, you will act as an ambassador for the high standard of treatments on offer in Sidmouth. Every step of our customer journey should ooze serene spa sophistication, our guests should feel special at each visit and leave relaxed and rejuvenated. You will demonstrate best practice for all the therapists and set an example of behaviours and attitudes to cultivate a first-class spa and wellbeing experience.

Over time, you will have the opportunity to influence the treatment menu and bring your experience and ideas to the team as we continually evolve our Source Spa and Wellness. The ideal candidate will have a passion for health and wellbeing along with the appropriate qualifications.

What will I be doing?

As a Senior Therapist at Source Spa and Wellness, you will be required to maintain a comprehensive knowledge of all the treatments, products, promotions, spa day and spa break packages on offer. You will be responsible for supporting your team of Therapists with their personal goals and development in the business, setting exemplary treatment standards and staff behaviour, and raising any training needs where necessary.

Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Carry out training and inductions in conjunction with the Therapist Trainer.
  • Drive revenue generated by post-treatment advice and retail sales.
  • Ensure procedures are followed daily throughout the spa and in treatment rooms.
  • Work with the team to maintain the standard of cleanliness, hygiene and professionalism. presentation with daily spot checks and report to the appropriate member of staff.
  • Support the Spa Manager with staff morale and motivation.
  • Maintain an effective stock control system and stock take checks.
  • Promote product usage limits to the Spa therapists.
  • Ensure a high standard of appearance and conduct of the Therapist team.
  • Maintain linen and product levels in treatment rooms.
  • Ensure that all information of a confidential nature gained in the course of duty is not divulged to third parties.
  • Act as a Supervisor during shifts when required.

What are we looking for?

To apply for the role of Senior Spa Therapist, you will need the following qualifications:

  • A minimum of NVQ, SVQ Level 3 in Beauty Therapy, other desirable qualifications CIDESCO, HND or HNC Diploma in Beauty Therapy.

To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:

  • At least Two year’s experience in a busy salon or spa is desirable/required.
  • Flexibility to work to the hours and needs of the business including shift, weekend and Bank Holiday work as well as covering shifts due to illness.
  • An ability to motivate the team of Therapists.
  • Positive and friendly attitude to your colleagues, superiors and guests.
  • Effective communication with staff and clients.
  • Computer systems knowledge( Microsoft and google), Spa or salon booking system ideally.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and cover treatments and Spa Attendant duties when required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to delivering superior levels of customer service.
  • A neat and tidy appearance (hair and fingernails) and adhere to uniform requirements.
