To provide relevant, accurate and up to date information to the Board to enable effective management decisions.
To effectively oversee and manage the finance team. Key Accountabilities

1.Legal and compliance
a. Ensure compliance with relevant law and Group policies, particularly with WBR Law / client accounts / SRA
reporting / GDPR.
b. Timely production and filing of statutory reports and returns:
i. Statutory accounts
ii. Corporation tax returns
iii. Other statutory returns are required (P11D, PSA, EoT, SRA, etc.)
2. Systems and processes
a. Oversee and develop the company’s finance IT system; Xero, integration with Omni, integration with HR and
payroll systems, integration with Operational systems
b. Ensure the business has adequate technical support to ensure all IT systems run efficiently and effectively in
accordance with business needs.
3. Risk management
a. Perform risk management, in conjunction with Group Risk Manager, by analysing the organisation’s liabilities
and investments.
b. Management of business insurance policies
4. Management information
a. Specify and ensure timely production and distribution of Management Information:
i. Daily
ii. Weekly
iii. Monthly
b. Comparison of actual performance versus budgeted / forecast, with variance analysis
i. Management accounts
ii. KPIs
c. Develop a model to record and monitor sustainability KPI e.g. KWH used per annum, amount of CO2 produced,
etc. to feed into Statutory Accounts. Record sustainability initiatives implemented in the year, as well as future
sustainability initiatives
5. Business planning / forecasting / acquisitions
a. Drive the Group’s financial planning, one-, three- and five-year plans.
b. Ensure cash flow is appropriate for the organization’s operations – daily cashflow forecasts, rolling into monthly
and annual models.
c. Prepare reliable forecasting reports, Xero management reports and Excel financial models.
6. Stakeholder management:
a. Internal (Executive Board)
b. External
i. Manage vendor relationships in conjunction with Purchase Ledger function; analyse costs vs budget. Identify any
overspend and manage appropriately. Analyse KPIs (Marketing spend as a % of turnover, benchmarked against
key competitors) and make relevant recommendations.
ii. Management of relationship with existing finance providers
iii. Management of relationships with business advisors
7. People (TEAM)
a. Supervise all finance personnel and manage the Group Head of Finance and the Finance Associate. Ensure
resource within the Finance team has the appropriate level of knowledge, skills and capacity to support business
needs.
8. Treasury Management
a. Decide on investment strategies by considering cash and liquidity risks – Treasury Management / short term
investments / maximising returns whilst maintaining adequate cashflow.

Experience Required
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior financial management position with extensive experience in leading
    a finance team and overseeing a company’s financial control and reporting activities.
