Job Introduction

We are looking for:

To continue our growth as a premier Contract Research Organisation, we are looking to recruit a PBPK leader to join our organisation. In this new global role, you will lead on delivery of PBPK business through provision of PBPK modelling and simulation science and strategy from projects in the discovery phase through to the clinic. Through building further capability and devising business plans you will have opportunity to lead on the delivery of PBPK across Pharmaron.

You will work primarily alongside UK Drug Discovery and China based teams but also collaborate with other business units to offer expanded integrated services.

This role will further develop overall Pharmaron capabilities and enhance the reputation of Pharmaron with its scientific and commercial stakeholders.

Key roles and responsibilities:

  • Work with global DMPK Leadership Team to deliver PBPK business strategy for global Pharmaron including contracts, recruitment, software and business model
  • Lead, design and deliver PBPK modelling and simulation contracts to support Pharmaron business units from Discovery through to clinical development.
  • Work with global organisation to offer PBPK modelling as an integrated service to various business lines.
  • Use own expertise in addition to providing mentoring, training and support ensuring PBPK contracts can be delivered to a high standard and in a timely manner
  • Build the reputation of Pharmaron in PBPK through publications, conference/webinar presence and working with BD & marketing.
  • Troubleshoot and overcome problems in projects across the Pharmaron organization through use of own technical knowledge and experience
  • Deliver clear presentations on plans, data and achievements to external partners and internal stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Extensive and demonstrable experience in conducting PBPK modelling and simulation work to support the pharmaceutical industry in discovery and/or development activities with solid understanding of related disciplines
  • Demonstrated impact in scientific leadership applied to drug discovery and development gained from at least 10 years experience in the industry
  • Ability to devise and execute strategy, influences takeholders and ability to adapt working style to suit different cultures and partner expectations
  • Minimum BSc level qualification in a relevant scientific discipline with a history of publication and presentations.
  • In depth knowledge and experience of PBPK principles, application and software packages such as Gastroplus, SimCYP
  • Excellent understanding of how physicochemical properties relate to drug behaviour
  • Significant knowledge of approaches and capabilities to conduct human PK and dose prediction
  • Robust understanding and experience of in vitro-in vivo extrapolation approaches across ADME principles
  • Demonstrated understanding of drug developability properties and risk mitigation strategies, for example DDI, formulation assessment
  • Dynamic personality with a demonstrable passion for innovation and problem-solving who is comfortable working as an individual and collaboratively.
  • Excellent communication, both written and oral, with the ability to influence and to effectively communicating across multiple formats including face to face and virtual project team environments
