This is a unique and exciting opportunity for an experienced and dynamic registered Health Professional to join our leadership team within our West Midlands Rehabilitation Centre services. The successful candidate will provide proactive professional and clinical leadership across our rehabilitation services, demonstrating positive leadership and resilience through their behaviour and role modelling. This role will work closely with the Divisional Director of Nursing & Therapies together with the Professional Leads to develop the strategic overview for continuing quality improvement, providing leadership and clinical support to Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech & Language Therapists, Orthotists, Prosthetists, Nursing, Rehabilitation Engineers and Healthcare Scientists.


The development and monitoring of new clinical initiatives to improve service outcomes for patients will be paramount to ensure robust plans are in place to monitor quality and enhance our patient experience in line with national, regional, and local quality performance indicators. Your support to embed our ISO13485 Quality Management System in daily practice will ensure delivery of continuous improvements within equipment services.


Leading research, innovation and development of clinical services and medical devices is engrained into the daily operation of WMRC. We have a flourishing training centre for healthcare science as well as delivering training for AHP and medical students. We believe that this ongoing investment into innovation and staff training provide continual improvement for patient outcomes and staff wellbeing.

The West Midlands Rehabilitation Centre services provide a wide range of local and regional specialist services including:


Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES)
Specialist Clinics (including Complex Neuro Rehab, Intrathecal Bacolfen, Spasticity, Neuro Muscular, Post COVID, Young Adults Service)
Mechanical Workshop (MWS)
Regional Rehabilitation Engineering Service (RE service)
General Nursing Team

Our patients have a wide variety of medical and social needs, and your role will play an integral part of our multi-disciplinary team delivering holistic individualised person-centered care, promoting independence and patient choice. Your leadership skills and management experience will ensure services are able to provide the highest levels of care within the varied contractual arrangements. Ensuring that rehabilitation equipment provided through the services is both clinically effective and financially efficient.
Ability to be independently mobile to travel across the Trust area


Evidence of continuous professional development
g post-graduate diploma and experience)
Professional registration with Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC)/ Healthcare Professions Council (HCPC)

Knowledge of local health economy
Comprehensive understanding of quality agenda for NHS
Demonstrable knowledge of governance of financial targets/service delivery
Proven ability to deliver service redesign involving multipleprofessional disciplines understanding of improvement methodology and project evaluation processes
Knowledge of workforce planning, recruitment and retention

Extensive relevant experience working at senior management level
Extensive experience of managing budgets within financial constraints/targets
Extensive relevant experience of and exposure to performance setting and monitoring
Experience in preparing reports to be presented to senior level stakeholders and committees
Significant experience of utilisinge PC tools/programmes to manipulate, analyse and present information to be distributed to senior level colleagues
