Job Description

As an electrical design engineer, you will join the Exeter team to support our activities within the Automotive (Defence) sector.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Develop component and assembly designs from inception to manufacturing within the automotive sector, employing CAD.
  • Generate circuit diagrams and schematics proficiently.
  • Create designs adhering to agreed-upon specifications within specified timeframes.
  • Ensure precise maintenance of design documentation and drawing version control.
  • Utilize the PDM system for storage and distribution of drawings.
  • Modify existing designs and drawings as necessary to fulfil new criteria.
  • Collaborate with the Project Engineer and fellow team members to optimize outcomes.

Qualifications

Experience, skills and qualifications required:

  • Proficient in CAD software, preferably Autocad and SolidWorks.
  • Demonstrated expertise in engineering drafting, particularly in electrical schematics and wiring harnesses. Minimum requirement of an HNC qualification in Electrical Engineering.
  • Familiarity with automotive electrical systems, including 12 and 24 volts.
  • Established track record of working in a designer capacity.
