My client is a long established successful specialist manufacturing engineering SME serving customers in high reliability sectors which include the regulated and demanding nuclear, defence and aerospace markets. ROLE: An opportunity for an experienced Buyer to purchase goods, materials, components and services in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets.
Commercial, Engineering, Manufacturing.
* Act as an interface between suppliers and other relevant departments on purchasing processes.
* Identify and communicate risk and resolve any supplier issues which may impact business operations.
* Contact suppliers to negotiate price, quality, delivery, or invoices issues.
* Conduct research for suppliers for new projects/components/sources/methods.
Familiar with inventory management systems (MRP)
* Previous experience in purchasing ideally within a manufacturing environment
* Good knowledge of MS office software
* Valid Passport and driving license - This role will require travel (overseas travel including)
