We’re looking for a number of Machine Operators to join our team in Stub Shafts, within the Rotatives Supply Chain Unit based in Derby.

Your role as a Machine Operator will involve working on some of the latest machining platforms in Rolls Royce including , Hermle’s & Schaudt Flex Grinding machines producing various shaft components across all our major engine projects.

What you’ll be doing

You will work to Rolls-Royce's technical instructions and program manuals to deliver consistent, high quality machining across a variety of different components and product families. You will:

  • Operate a variety of inspection equipment, including machine probing, micrometres, plug gauges.
  • Interpretation of manufacturing drawings, customer drawings and written specifications.
  • Assessment of whether the quality of components produced within the facility meets the required standards.
  • Work within a team to effectively resolve quality issues and ensure your work is being completed to plan.

What we’re looking for

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) and time served engineering apprenticeship. Please attach a copy of your certificates.
  • Clear and demonstrated understanding of drawing interpretation, calibration, dimensional and visual inspection.
