Job Title: Senior Risk Manager Location: Hybrid - Remote / Multiple UK Sites Senior Risk Manager Job Summary: The Senior Risk Manager is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of power plants. This role focuses on identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks related to plant operations, maintenance, and engineering. The Senior Risk Manager will lead efforts in risk management, implement continuous improvements, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations while optimising plant performance. Senior Risk Manager Key Responsibilities:
- Perform regular assessments to identify operational, financial, safety, and environmental risks.
- Identify critical equipment and processes, prioritising those that present the highest risk to plant operations.
- Develop and implement action plans to mitigate high-priority risks, including creating preventive maintenance schedules, safety protocols, and contingency plans.
- Oversee the mobilisation of O&M processes, project handover, and subsequent operations, ensuring efficient plant performance.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives through a Centre of Excellence (COE) approach.
- Work closely with O&M teams to optimize maintenance strategies, balancing cost and risk to maximize plant reliability.
- Implement and maintain the SyS operating model, governance structures, and clearly defined roles and responsibilities within the country.
- 5-10 years of experience in power plant operations, maintenance, or engineering, with a strong focus on risk management within the energy sector.
- Comprehensive understanding of O&M business functions and operations.
- In-depth knowledge of power plant systems, equipment, and processes.
- Strong familiarity with industry standards and relevant local legislation.
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills, with the ability to prioritize and make effective decisions.
- Proficiency in using risk assessment tools such as HAZOP (Hazard and Operability Study).
- Ability to work in a matrix organization and utilize resources effectively.
- A mindset focused on continuous improvement and root cause analysis.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
