Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy services are evolving and the Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner service has an exciting opportunity to join the Trust and be at the forefront of expert clinical practice and the transformation of Musculoskeletal pathways across beautiful Worcestershire.
We are fortunate to be able to offer two permanent positions to join the established APP service providing specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy assessment and utilisation of advanced practice skills for management of patients with complex MSK presentations. The one post is full time and based at Bromsgrove and the second post is 30hours a week and will spend separate days at our bases in Malvern, Worcester city and Droitwich. You can expect, and support, personal and professional development through in-service training program, with strong established links between service partners in primary, secondary and tertiary care. Main duties of the job The service provides a single point of access for MSK and Orthopaedic referrals. You will provide specialist triage of referrals form GPs, FCPs and Physiotherapists into the single point of access. You will contribute to high quality, patient-centered care using evidence-based knowledge and skill. You will be managing a highly complex clinical case load. You will provide advanced clinical assessment and utilise advanced clinical practice skills such as diagnostics, peripheral joint injections (injection skills required), or specialist secondary care referral, to support management of patients within the Worcestershire Musculoskeletal pathways. You will be provided with Specific Professional Activity time. You will lead on clinical and service development of the APP service and musculoskeletal Physiotherapy team. You will provide teaching and supervision of clinicians and students to help to shape the future workforce. You will complete audit and research within the service. Act as a source of clinical expertise, knowledge and skills in advanced clinical practice. lead in the advanced clinical assessment of patients who have highly complex presentations, making a differential diagnosis and prescribing treatments as an independent non-medical prescriber. professionally accountable for autonomous assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of programmes of evidence based clinical care. Maintain records as an autonomous practitioner liaising closely with the patients medical practitioner. Work collaboratively and cooperatively with clinical colleagues to develop services and quality of care delivered. - Understanding of professional and current issues in relevant clinical area

- Demonstrable post-graduate experience in a relevant area
- Extensive post-graduate experience in a role undertaking assessment and management of musculoskeletal and orthopaedic patients
- Extensive post-graduate experience managing patients with undifferentiated pain and ability to demonstrate an advanced knowledge of red flags and their management
- Extensive post-graduate experience in a role undertaking assessments of complex needs
- Experience of working with people with long-term illness and/or older people
- Clinical experience of caring for people with cognitive impairment
- Experience of working across professional boundaries
- Experience of change/leading service development
- Experience of clinical leadership
- Able to meet the travel requirements of the role
- Registered Allied Health Professional
- Relevant full masters degree or demonstrable extensive equivalent experience in the relevant speciality
