The Global Health Programme (GHP) focuses on the key issues in global health security that require international cooperation and coordination to effectively and efficiently strengthen health security in a world characterised by geopolitical competition, lingering inequity that threatens global health security, rapid technological advancement, and scarce resources. Key themes revolve around strengthening the global health security architecture and governance, reducing technological risks to global health security, and enhancing preparedness and response to health emergencies whether naturally, accidentally, or deliberately caused.

We seek a Programme Coordinator who will play a key role in supporting our activities by providing coordination across financial administration, events, publications and research projects and proposals.

Main Duties and Responsibilities Delivery
  • Financial administration: assist with reporting, annual budgeting and forecasting processes and keep track of project budgets' income and expenditure.
  • Assist with planning and coordination of events, workshops, conferences, and roundtables, including drafting of agendas and concept notes, and management of invitations, participants’ travel, publicity, and other logistics.
  • Promote programme activities, including newsletters and announcements, and ensure effective dissemination.
  • Support with grant reporting, including preparation and submission of progress reports.
  • Coordinate projects from inception to delivery, including drafting narrative reports and other project written output.
  • Assist with the administration of consultants.
People
  • Ensure timely and regular internal communications on the programme’s activities and news amongst staff, consultants and Associate Fellows
  • Build positive relationships with colleagues and create a positive working culture, ensuring good practice is shared and embodying the institute's high-quality standards.
  • Direct support to the Programme Director and Research Fellow.
Strategy
  • Assist the Programme Director and Research Fellow in developing budgets for funding proposals and contribute to drafting funding and grant proposals.
  • Support programme and institute-wide initiatives to improve efficiencies and effectiveness of activities.
  • Update and manage the programme’s database of prospects and contacts and ensure timely follow-up in communications and engagement.
Person Specification Essential
  • Outstanding administration, coordination and organisational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and able to work under tight timeframes whilst balancing various tasks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in coordinating and delivering high quality events for online meeting platforms and for large in-person events.
  • Experience using digital communication channels eg. X and email promotion tools.
  • Experience with budgeting and financial reporting.
  • A collaborative approach, able to form positive working relationships with people at all levels, internally and externally.
  • Good IT skills and familiarity with Office 365 suite (inc. MS Teams, Word and Outlook).
  • Good command of Excel
Desirable
  • Experience working with databases/CRM software.
  • Experience working in a similar organisation.
  • Good general knowledge of global affairs and an interest in global health.

Salary: £32,500 per annum

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Location: Hybrid (Office/Home), minimum 2 days in the office per week.
