Due to growth of our service an opportunity has arisen for a permanent Band 7 Clinical Scientist to join the existing Nuclear Medicine team which consist of 17.This is an interesting and varied role providing physics support to the Nuclear Medicine.


There is an in-house Radiopharmacy used for the daily manufacture of radiopharmaceuticals, which is operated jointly with the Pharmacy department, and we also carry out Nuclear Medicine Therapies. Nuclear Medicine is a part of Medical Physics


To provide scientific support to the Nuclear Medicine, and Radiation Protection services throughout the Trust


Carry out QC for imaging and non-imaging equipment.


Support Radiopharmacy QC.

To Participates in the provision of scientific support to the Nuclear Medicine, and Radiation Protection services throughout the Trust so that an efficient and effective service is provided.


Relevant scientific, BSC & MSc or equivalent
Specialist experience in Nuclear Medicine / Molecular Radiotherapy

Experience of performing routine QC on imaging and non-imaging equipment and able to analyse results and recommend most appropriate course of action.
Demonstrates an understanding of Radiation Protection Legislation and how it applies to Nuclear Medicine.
Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to deliver training.
Knowledge of NHS software, e.g. Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
