People Solutions are pleased to be working with a well-known home furnishing company to support their delivery network across the UK. Working Monday to Saturday (part time or full time hours available – flexible days of working), starting at either 6am or 10.30am & earning £14.28 per hour, you will be a key part of the delivery team, with an opportunity to become a permanent member of staff for the right candidate. Canteen Facilities Free Parking Online Worker Portal Employee Assistance Programme Holiday entitlement is 28 days per year pro-rata, accrued as you work Temporary to Permanent Day to Day Duties As the face of the business in the local area, your day will start with you spending time ensuring you have everything needed for the day ahead and carrying out your daily vehicle checks. You'll then be responsible for: Delivering furniture, home furnishings and white goods to customers' homes. Using a hand-held computer device to act as a routing system and obtain customer signatures for deliveries, as well as ringing ahead of a delivery to ensure the customer is at home. Completing daily checks to ensure you have everything needed to be delivered for the day. Manual handling is involved in this role as you will be assisting the porter to deliver items on board. Essential Skills Essential skills for this role are: Full UK driving licence (category C1), tacho card & CPC card. Good time keeping. A professional appearance and attitude, & confident when dealing with people. The ability to work equally well as part of a team and on your own initiative. Familiar with manual handling of heavier items. Desirable Experience Experience in a similar delivery role would be an advantage but not essential as training will be given.
